𝐂𝐍𝐔 𝐋𝐑𝐂 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐫𝐠𝐲. 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫

January 14, 2026 — The CNU LRC, together with the BLIS and MLIS departments, held a courtesy meeting with Barangay Labangon, headed by Barangay Captain Derrick Yap, to further discuss and advance plans for the establishment of a Barangay Reading Center.

The meeting enabled a discussion on feasible plans for the reading center, including its scope, strategies, and the respective responsibilities of the barangay and the University, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening community-based literacy initiatives. The discussion also included the formalization of the collaboration through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), which will guide future activities and coordination.

The engagement built on insights from the courtesy visit on November 14, 2025, conducted during the 35th Library and Information Services Month (LISM) 2025, marking a transition from exploratory discussions toward implementation readiness.
