2ND FLOOR LIBRARY DIRECTORY

CIRCULATION SECTION

This section handles all transactions pertinent to the borrowing and returning of books, managing book fines and penalties, and signing of library clearances.

FICTION BOOKS

Light reading materials such as fiction, novels, and inspirational books are placed in this area.  Materials here can be borrowed for seven (7) days, and can be renewed once.

FILIPINIANA

Filipiniana collection include books written by Filipino authors, books about the Philippines and books published in the Philippines.  These books can be borrowed for home use for seven (7) days, non-renewable.

REFERENCE COLLECTION

These are books on varied subject areas/disciplines written by foreign authors, books about other countries and books published in other countries.  Reference books can be borrowed for home use for seven (7) days and can be renewed once, provided there has been no prior request for them.

RESERVE SECTION

Books at the Reserve Section are those books with only one copy, hard to find and expensive books and books that are frequently used. Books that are also recommended / selected by faculty members for the use of their students on a particular subject(s) are also placed on reserve.

Reserve books are for “Library Use Only” and may be charged out for “Photocopy” for a period of one (1)  hour only.


TECHNICAL SERVICES SECTION

Library operations concerned with the acquisition, organization, physical processing and maintenance of library collections are done in this section.


GRADUATE STUDIES SECTION

Collections here are theses, dissertations, technical and clinical papers and some faculty works.  Materials here are strictly for “library use only”.  No photocopy allowed.


3RD FLOOR LIBRARY DIRECTORY

ELECTRONIC LIBRARY (E-LIB.)

Electronic resources such as E-Books and E-Journals can be accessed at the E-Library.  There are 20 computer units available for research to online collection.  The Internet service of the library is intended for Research Purposes only.Services Available:

PERIODICALS SECTION

Periodicals are publications issued at regular intervals and to be continued in an indefinite period of time.  Journals, magazines, newspapers, vertical file materials such as newspaper clippings, pamphlets, and other ephemeral materials are available in this section.  Library materials in this section are for “library use only” and may be charged out for “photocopy” for a period of one (1) hour only.


GENREF & SPECIAL COLLECTIONS’ SECTION

General Reference collections include dictionaries, encyclopedias, yearbooks, handbooks, almanacs, atlases, maps, gazetteers, biographical dictionaries and the like.  Library materials in this section are for “library use only” and may be charged out for “photocopy” for a period of one (1) hour only.

Special Collections’ Section

  • AMERICAN SHELF – American Studies collections are donated from the Thomas Jefferson Information Center.
  • BRITISH COUNCIL COLLECTION – These are donated books from the British Council.
  • NCDA COLLECTION – These are donated from the National Council on Disability Affairs.


CHILDREN’S CORNER

Collections here are story books and other reference materials for children.

 


MULTIMEDIA COLLECTION / MEDIA CENTER

Collections here are the non-print materials for instructional media purposes.


DISCUSSION ROOMS

The Discussion Room is used for group discussion and study purposes upon reservation at the Circulation Counter.   Users must come in a group of at least three (3) people to make a reservation. They can use the discussion room for two hours which can be extended if there are no other incoming users. Reservations cannot be made in advance; discussion room tables are given in a first come-first serve basis.
