Cebu Normal University (CNU) welcomed representatives from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for the onsite inspection, tagging, and turnover of equipment under the OPRKM-IDIG Project: State-of-the-Art Facilities and Enhanced Services Equipment on August 13, 2025.
Funded through the CHED-Initiated Institutional Development and Innovation Grant (IDIG) Program, the project aims to transform the CNU Learning Resource Center with modern facilities and equipment to support innovative services, flexible learning modalities, and lifelong learning for students, faculty, and staff.
Dr. Janet Mananay, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the University President and Vice President for Special Needs, Early Childhood Education, and Lifelong Learning, delivered the welcome message. Mr. Mark Erwin Baroy, Project Technical Staff I of CHED Regional Office VII, formally introduced the CHED team. The statement of purpose was delivered by Mr. Patrick James Arao, Project Technical Staff I of the Higher Education Development Fund (HEDF).
On behalf of the project, Prof. Lilia Vergara delivered the closing remarks, reflecting on the significance of the turnover for the library. OIC Supervisor, Ms. Francheska Vonne Gali, facilitated the inspection and turnover process, ensuring accurate documentation and accountability.
The activity was also attended by Dr. Allan Roy Elnar, Vice President for Administration, Finance, and External Affairs; Mr. Deofel Balijon, Head of the Property Supply and Management Unit; Learning Resource Center librarians; and CNU staff and personnel who supported the activity.
The successful turnover represents a strategic milestone in providing CNU students, faculty, and staff with state-of-the-art learning facilities, further advancing the universityโs SMART Campus initiatives and its commitment to excellence in higher education.
